After World War II, St. Petersburg became a healing place, drawing soldiers in with beautiful locals, sunshine and the warm ocean breeze. The Don CeSar took on another life form, going from accommodating the world's most affluent guests to becoming a haven for war veterans. Around 1945, it evolved into a destination that not only nurtured soldiers back to health, but introduced many of them to their future wives.
